As I sat on the chairlift in Tahoe, awaiting my next killer run in the powder, the shadows and reflections of color were exploding on the snow below me. The elegant birch trees with their upright form and creamy white bark, were so beautiful that I took off my gloves and started clicking pictures with my cold hands. It was worth it!
